Nagyobb csoportokban, ahol mindig vannak termelő országok, nem érdemes tartani bányát, csak abban az esetben, ha törpe vagy.
Kis létszámú csoportokban (100-150 fő alatt) érdemes tartani, mivel elég kicsi a kínálat, és gyakori szokott lenni, hogy nagyon drágák a nyersanyagok, vagy teljesen üres a piac. Ez általában akkor szokott bekövetkezni, amikor sok nyersanyagra lenne szükséged.
